AT&T

Back when smartphones had buttons...

AT&T was the main client that I worked on for over three years during my time at BBDO. A vast array of projects came across, and left, my desk from TV to print to OOH to promotional to POS to guerilla. I was able to help introduce the "AT&T 2.0" look and feel to the ads, by making the phone and the ad background more dynamic and dimensional, all while still showcasing the phone in the foreground. Here's an example:

One of the most exciting campaigns I was able to work on was the "Work Smarter" campaign for the Palm (remember them?) Treo. We placed OOH billboards along the stops of the SEPTA commuter rail in Philiadelphia. SEPTA has an annual ridership of over 30 million people, and our campaign ran for 6 months. That could equal at least 10-15 million pairs of eyes all looking at these ads. This was alot of fun to work on.

TV commercials were a high focus during the time; as digital/social media were quickly gaining popularity. AT&T was looking to launch two new phones, thin and the next level of phones to compete with the RAZR™ line. Interesting how we wanted phones small and thin, now large screens are popular.
